Michael Amushelelo

Namibian political activist Michael Amushelelo surrendered to the police on Friday, May 13, following allegations of “terrorizing the business community” by raiding shops in Windhoek’s China Town. The 31-year-old activist is a member of the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF).

Amushelelo’s actions, conducted without a court order or official mandate, were prompted by the Namibia Revenue Agency’s destruction of over N$5 million (almost 3 million euros) worth of goods believed to have been imported illegally.

The activist has been documenting and sharing his operations on social media, attracting significant attention and controversy. His raids have sparked widespread discussion and debate within the community.
