Bolt, the mobility platform, has unveiled its second Driver Engagement Centre in Thornton, Cape Town, this week. This new hub emerges in response to extensive driver feedback, emphasizing the importance of in-person support. Building on the success of its first centre in Johannesburg, the Cape Town facility is set to provide face-to-face assistance to drivers, addressing their concerns and challenges directly.

This initiative is part of Bolt’s broader mission to deepen its relationship with driver-partners. The centre will enhance driver support, facilitate quicker issue resolution, and assist new driver-partners in hitting the road more efficiently. It will also function as a Lost and Found centre, where passengers can retrieve belongings left behind during Bolt rides.

Bolt’s Senior Operations Manager, Simo Kalajdzic, highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting its drivers. “Drivers are the backbone of our business, and their success is paramount. We’re constantly striving to improve their experience and help them maximize their earnings. The new centre will also provide a range of training programs tailored to equip drivers with the skills needed to excel on the platform. These sessions will cover areas such as customer service, maximizing income potential, safety procedures, and vehicle maintenance. By offering this comprehensive support, Bolt aims to ensure drivers feel empowered, confident, and equipped to deliver excellent service, ultimately enhancing the passenger experience.”

Bolt’s first Driver Engagement Centre in Johannesburg, launched last year, continues to offer dedicated support to drivers. Now, with the expansion into Cape Town, the company is proud to grow its network of support centres, with plans to extend these hubs nationwide.

As part of its commitment to safety, Bolt also initiated self-defense and safety training sessions for female drivers in Johannesburg during Women’s Month. This initiative aims to equip women with essential skills to navigate safety challenges on South African roads. Bolt remains steadfast in supporting its driver-partners and plans to expand such initiatives across the country.
