Why Cabal Wants Jonathan Back In Office

Chief Olu Falae, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and a leader of the Afenifere socio-political group, has expressed concerns about the motives behind the push for the return of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2023 elections. According to Falae, a powerful cabal in the Presidency is advocating for Jonathan’s return, not out of genuine support for his leadership but for their own interests. He believes their goal is to have Jonathan serve only one term, allowing them to quickly shift power back to the northern region after his presidency.

Falae criticized the inconsistency of the same individuals who once discredited Jonathan in 2015, calling him incompetent, and now seeking his return. He argues that this is part of a broader political maneuver aimed at maintaining control, without concern for national progress or Jonathan’s performance. Falae also expressed his frustration with Nigeria’s current political parties, which he described as opportunistic alliances focused on gaining access to the nation’s resources rather than addressing key issues like unemployment and national prosperity.

Furthermore, Falae emphasized the need for restructuring Nigeria’s federal constitution, which he claims is essential for achieving peace and coexistence among the country’s diverse ethnic groups. He believes that the current quasi-unitary system benefits a select few and perpetuates inequality and conflict.
