Tobi Amusan Wins Gold at Diamond League Final

 Tobi AmusanNigerian sprinter Tobi Amusan made history today, September 9, 2021, by winning the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Final. Amusan, 24, secured her first Diamond League title with a blistering time of 12.42 seconds, the fastest of her career.

The race, held at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich, featured a highly competitive field, but Amusan surged ahead in the final meters to claim victory. Her closest rival, Dutch athlete Nadine Visser, finished second with a time of 12.51 seconds, while Jamaica’s Megan Tapper came in third at 12.55 seconds.

Amusan’s gold medal win in Zurich is the culmination of a successful season, which included strong performances at various international meets. Her victory in the Diamond League Final not only secured her the prestigious Diamond Trophy but also solidified her position among the world’s top hurdlers.
