FG Commits Over N300bn to FCT Development Projects, Says Wike

The Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, has approved over N300 billion for the development of satellite towns and critical infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, disclosed this during an update on ongoing and planned projects to improve living standards in the FCT.

According to Wike, this funding will be used to address pressing infrastructure needs in satellite towns, including road construction, water supply, education, and security enhancements. The projects aim to reduce the disparity between the FCT’s central city and its outlying areas, ensuring that residents of satellite towns benefit from the government’s development agenda.

A significant portion of the budget, about N50 billion, has been earmarked for the provision of water across FCT area councils. This move is expected to alleviate water scarcity issues and improve sanitation, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Wike emphasized that the government is focused on delivering impactful projects that will transform the lives of FCT residents.

In addition to infrastructure, the Tinubu administration has committed over N100 billion to road projects, particularly in the Bwari area, and other sectors such as education and security.
