Nigeria-Germany Trade Relations Strengthen with €142M Imports & Trade Fair Spotlight

Nigeria-Germany trade relations

Nigeria and Germany are strengthening their bilateral economic relations, with a strong emphasis on trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.

Trade Performance in 2024

In November 2024 alone:
Nigeria exported goods worth €142 million to Germany.
Germany exported €84.6 million in goods to Nigeria.
This resulted in a €57.5 million trade deficit for Germany.

However, over the past five years, Nigeria’s exports to Germany have declined at an annualized rate of 5.83%, signaling the need for stronger trade incentives.

€40M Waste Management Contract: A Milestone in Nigeria-Germany Cooperation

Beyond trade figures, Nigeria has secured a €40 million export contract with two German organizations for:
Three waste treatment plants
Waste collection trucks

This agreement highlights Germany’s growing investment in Nigeria’s environmental and industrial sectors.

Nigeria Agrofood, Plastprintpack 2025: Strengthening Trade & Innovation

To further enhance economic collaboration, Lagos will host the 10th edition of Nigeria Agrofood, Plastprintpack, a major trade fair from March 25 – 27, 2025.
