Chidimma Adetshina Emerges First Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2024

Nigeria’s Chidimma Adetshina has made history by finishing as the first runner-up in the Miss Universe 2024 competition. The grand finale, held in San Salvador, El Salvador, saw representatives from over 90 countries compete for the prestigious crown. Adetshina’s remarkable performance marked Nigeria’s highest placement in the history of the global pageant.

The 24-year-old Nigerian dazzled the judges and audience with her poise, intelligence, and elegance throughout the competition. Representing her country with pride, she impressed in the preliminary rounds, including the swimsuit and evening gown segments, and delivered a compelling response during the interview session, which secured her place among the final contenders.

The competition was won by Venezuela’s representative, Mariana Martínez, who captivated the judges with her charisma and advocacy for mental health awareness. Martínez succeeded the outgoing Miss Universe, Emma Broyles of the United States, while Chidimma Adetshina’s placement as the first runner-up was celebrated as a major achievement for Nigeria on the global stage.

Adetshina’s historic accomplishment has been widely praised in Nigeria and beyond.
