On September 21, 2025, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Area 12, Province 130, in Ilamoshe, Okeafa, Isolo, Lagos, hosted a “Jesus Market.”
This community fair offered food and household items at significantly reduced prices, bringing together church members and local residents.
Pastor Bisi Folahan leads the church. He said the fair shows Christ’s love by helping people. “We sold yams for N1,000, not N4,000, and gave some items free,” he shared.
Support from Companies
Big companies like Money Point, Wema Bank, and Kellogg’s helped. They gave products and gifts. The church also gave free payment machines to local traders.
More Markets Planned
Folahan said the Jesus Market will happen twice a year. The next one is in December. “We’ll have more space and partners to help more people,” he added.
Low Prices for Everyone
Mercy Olowoporku runs the welfare team. She said items cost half or less. “A N3,000 item was N500 here,” she said. “People are happy, and it boosts their faith.”
Community First, Not Profit
Faith Okoduwa-Ilembiluan, another team member, listed cheap items like rice, beans, and soap. “Rice was N2,000, not N3,500,” she said. Church members’ donations funded the fair, not profit.
Happy Shoppers
Chief Frank Onyekachi, a local, loved the low prices. “Other churches should do this. It helps people and faith,” he said. Grace Ane agreed, saying it helps with high costs. “With support, this can last,” she noted.
Growing the Initiative
The church plans bigger markets with more partners. This will help more people and keep supporting the community.
